DOUGH
After combining all ingredients (minus the butter and shortening) for the dough, cover with Saran Wrap and place in the refrigerator for about half hour.
Remove the dough from refrigerator and flour a flat surface before flattening the dough with a rolling pin.
After flattening, paste the 2 tsp of Crisco shortening across the dough and then add 4 oz of cold butter slices spread out evenly across the dough.
Fold the dough into three and use the rolling pin to incorporate the butter into the dough. Flour accordingly to prevent sticking.
